Mission

The Oratory Religion Camp is a one week resident experience in Christian living. We live, play, pray, and study together so as to deepen our Catholic faith and live it more fully, while having a whole lot of fun in a highly supervised safe environment. It seems to work as it is common for a camper to ask to stay a little longer at the end of the week!

Campers

The camp is for girls and boys under the age of 12 who will be entering grades 2-6 in September 2010. You do not need to be Catholic to attend. There will be two one week sessions in July 2010 > First session is July 11 thru July 17 and second session is July 18 thru July 24. In order to ensure a faithful and fun experience for everyone, we limit attendance for each camper to one week. The Camper Application and Emergency Information forms can be accessed by visiting the Camper Application Page.

If your child will attend, please provide clothing for 7 days including something warm (like long pants and sweater), towels, swimsuit, rain wear, and personal items like soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deoderant, etc. Everyone is required to wear footwear (no flip flops). Also provide bedding: two cot sheets, blanket(s), and a pillow ( a sleeping bag can be used). Remember, even in July it can get cold in the woods and there is no heat in the cabins. Please mark all belongings clearly as each person is responsible for his or her own belongings. One more thing..please bring a small water bottle marked with the camper's name.

Staff

Our staff are hand picked and must meet high standards for faith, morality, and the ability to work well with kids. In fact, many of the staff are ex-campers who have been coming back year after year to help provide new campers the same wonderful experiences they had as children! If you are up to the challenge and want to have a lot of fun, please visit the Staff Application Page. Remember to submit all three forms > Application, Emergency Information, and Code of Conduct forms.

Safety

We recognize and value the precious gift of children. While in our care, we make every effort to ensure a safe environment for each camper including lifeguards and a resident nurse to tend to any bumps/scratches and to ensure any medications are taken in a safe and timely manner.

Facilities

Each cabin houses 2- 4 campers along with a staff person. Separate girls and boys rest rooms/shower areas are centrally located. In our dining hall, our fabulous kitchen staff prepare three delicious meals a day plus snacks. Campers are encouraged to exhibit their creativity in our large and well supplied crafts building. Swimming is in the lake under the supervision of a lifeguard. Campers enjoy soccer and kickball on our large sports field in addition to volleyball, basketball, badminton, kickball, horseshoes, and jump rope.
